About the Foundation

The Parks Foundation was established in 2011 when the 501c3 status was obtained. This foundation will play a big part in obtaining grants for park additions and improvements.

Money, property, and vehicles can all be given as donations to the Foundation for Shelbyville/Shelby County Parks & Recreation and will be tax exempt.  Scholarship funds can also be established for large donation amounts in individual or company names.

Immediate park needs are funds to match grants for the Greenway Trail project, trail and property improvement, land acquisition for land adjacent to Clear Creek Park for athletic field expansion, as well as building a new shelter at the Red Orchard Dog Park, and continuing to improve the Shelby Trails Park.

A future goal will be introducing our Parks Foundation Capitol Campaign which focuses on building an addition to the Clear Creek Family Activity Center.
